Ilka Parent, Clinical Psychotherapist
Depth (psychodynamic) Psychology, Psychotraumatherapy (DeGPT)
Years of experience working in military hospitals schooled me in the typical clinical areas.
My clinical focus on issues typically associated with serving in the Armed Forces had to adjust after 9/11 to the areas of "Trauma", "Combat Related Stress Disorders" and "Reintegration after deployments/retirement”.
To date, I offer military service members as well as people who have experienced a trauma assistance in dealing with their respective life circumstances.
From 2011-2016, Ilka Parent was EAGALA Network Coordinator for Germany and as one of 19 international EAGALA trainers and mentors an important part of this organization. She contributed greatly to making the work with the EAGALA model known in Germany. She has a worldwide network, organizes annual international symposia on equine assisted psychotherapy and horse welfare in equine and horse-assisted practices. She publishes annual compendiums on equine welfare and regularly publishes both textbooks and articles on the topic of psychotrauma therapy with horses.
